Fabien Solmon, de l'International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italie, donnera mardi 5 janvier 2016 à 14 heures en salle de conférences de l'observatoire de Besançon un séminaire intitulé : "L'aérosol désertique dans le système climatique : processus et impacts".

Résumé :

Les poussières atmosphériques désertiques sont des particules émises par les sols dans les régions arides et semi-arides du globe. Cet aérosol minéral peut être transporté sur des milliers de km puis redéposé en surface (sols, végétation, glaciers et océans). L'étude des poussières et de leurs impacts environnementaux est un sujet en pleine expansion, très interdisciplinaire et recouvrant une large gamme d'échelles spatio-temporelles. Outre leur effet sur la santé et l'activité humaine (pollution particulaire, tempêtes de sable), les poussières interagissent avec le rayonnement atmosphérique, la microphysique nuageuse et la chimie atmosphérique, impactant ainsi la météorologie et le climat. Le dépôt d'espèces chimiques associées aux poussières peut être également un facteur environnemental important dans le fonctionnement de certains écosystèmes et affectant indirectement le cycle du carbone et le climat. Dans ce contexte, l'exposé discutera plus particulièrement les fondements de la modélisation des poussières atmosphériques dans les modèles climatiques et illustrera certains impacts, comme la modification des dynamiques de moussons, l'apport de nutriments aux écosystèmes marins, ou encore les interactions entre poussières, chimie atmosphérique et nuages.

Un article original, où se mêlent sciences historiques, sociales et épidémiologie, a été récemment publié dans Plos One. En cartographiant le nombre de morts de la peste pendant trois épidémies du début du 15e siècle et en analysant les distributions spatiales et leurs relations avec la répartition des catégories socio-professionnelles dans la ville de Dijon, l'article propose une explication au développement de ces trois épidémies. Cette collaboration est le fruit de la pluridisciplinarité entre une historienne, Anne Galanaud, un professeur d'immunologie, Pierre Galanaud, et un professeur d'éco-épidémiologie Patrick Giraudoux.

En écho à la table-ronde de Frasne (Doubs) tenue en octobre 2013, qui a rassemblé des géologues, biologistes, archéologues et historiens des universités de Franche-Comté et de Bourgogne ainsi que de Savoie, de Toulouse, ou de l'INRAP, ce volume présente les résultats de recherches récentes menées en France mais également autour de la Méditerranée ou au Groenland, pour reconstituer les trajectoires passées des écosystèmes, restituer les dynamiques d'occupation et de gestion des territoires, et remonter ainsi aux racines des questions qui sont posées aujourd'hui à nos sociétés.

Les journées bioinformatiques de l'Inra
Toulouse, du 21 au 23 Mars 2016

En 2016, le PEPI IBIS organise conjointement avec la cellule bioinformatique les journées bioinformatiques de l'INRA. Elles se dérouleront du lundi 21 mars (14h00) au mercredi 23 mars 2016 (13h00) à l'hôtel Mercure de Compans Cafarelli (Toulouse).

Ces journées visent à :

-échanger sur les outils, les méthodes et plus généralement les pratiques en usage dans les domaines de la bioinformatique et des biostatistiques pour mieux faire face aux nouveaux défis posés par la diversité et la spécificité des traitements de données produites par les technologies d'acquisition de données sur le Vivant ;
- mettre en avant les défis majeurs posés dans le cadre des métaprogrammes et de quelques PIA (Projets Investissements d'Avenir) où l'Inra est un acteur majeur ;
- informer sur l'existant en termes d'organisation(s) et d'infrastructures propres à l'Inra ou connexes à l'Inra, aux plans national et international ;
- identifier les formations (nature, forme) à mettre prioritairement en place pour assurer le transfert des compétences vers les biologistes et les bioinformaticiens sur des thématiques prioritaires.

Vous pouvez dès maintenant consulter le programme dans ses grandes lignes, vous inscrire et soumettre une proposition de poster sur le site dédié : http://bioinfo-inra.sciencesconf.org/.

Attention le nombre de places est limité. Les repas, les pauses et l'hébergement (pour les non-Toulousains) seront pris en charge par le PEPI IBIS et la cellule bioinformatique (voir sur le site les conditions). Les déplacements restent à la charge des unités.

Les Journées Grand-témoin sont l'occasion pour les étudiants de master de rencontrer une personnalité scientifique renommée, connue pour sa culture transdisciplinaire et invitée àélargir leur vision par une conférence introductive, ainsi que par sa réaction aux présentations de leur travail de recherche.

Le grand témoin cette année, n'est autre qu'Yvon le Maho, écophysiologiste à l'Institut Pluridisciplinaire Hubert-Curien de Strasbourg, directeur de recherche CNRS et membre de l'Académie des Sciences qui présentera la situation des manchots antarctiques face au changement climatique lors d'une conférence.

Durant ces 2 jours, les étudiants de la Fédération Franco-Suisse des Masters en Sciences de l'environnement rendront compte de leur travail sur des exposés de 30 mn.

Résumé

L'objectif principal de cette thèse a été d'établir une histoire précise des interactions sociétés-environnement durant le dernier millénaire dans deux zones de moyenne montagne, territoires particulièrement sensibles aux aléas naturels ainsi qu'aux événements politiques, économiques et sociaux à travers un jeu de données multiples issues de différentes disciplines.
L'étude de deux séquences sédimentaires lacustres de sites jurassien et alpin, grâce à l'outil palynologique - grains de pollen, spores et microfossiles non-polliniques -, particulièrement développé ici avec la haute-résolution, croisé avec l'étude des données historiques et archivistiques nous a permis, en plus de fournir un corpus complémentaire, de tester une approche comparative (données polliniques vs données cadastrales).
Au lac de Remoray (Doubs, massif jurassien, 850 m d'altitude), l'étude a précisé le schéma du processus d'occupation de cette partie de la haute vallée du Doubs. Les données du haut Moyen Âge illustrent une fois de plus que l'idée qu'un désert forestier précédant l'arrivée des moines défricheurs est à nuancer. L'installation des communautés religieuses durant les XIe-XIIIe siècles et l'influence des pouvoirs seigneuriaux sur cette zone stratégique semblent toutefois l'étape clef dans la mise en place d'un peuplement durable. Les activités économiques se diversifient et prennent leur essor durant les siècles suivants, bien que certaines périodes soient marquées de crises socio-politiques et traversées par les effets, plus ou moins ressentis, du Petit Âge Glaciaire. Il faudra attendre la transition XIXe-XXe siècle pour que les paysages sylvo-pastoraux que nous connaissons actuellement se mettent en place.
Situé un peu plus au sud (Savoie, massif de la Chartreuse), notre second site d'étude trouve son origine dans ce qui donne à la montagne une autre identité : les risques naturels. Le site est le témoignage d'une zone dévastée en 1248 de notre ère par un immense glissement de terrain suite à la chute d'une partie du Mont Granier (1933 m d'altitude). Cet événement, privant une partie de la vallée de cinq paroisses et d'un millier d'habitants, a engendré rapidement un nouveau territoire, aussi bien topographique, végétal que socio-économique. L'observation particulière des sédiments du lac Saint-André formé post-éboulement a offert l'occasion de suivre pas à pas cette reconquête végétale et humaine, appuyé par les approches géologiques, géographiques, archéologiques et historiques qui animent la recherche de façon récurrente. Les résultats obtenus témoignent d'une période de recolonisation végétale suivie d'une reconquête agro-pastorale relativement rapide, avec comme particularité la mise en place d'un territoire viticole. L'enregistrement sédimentaire particulier de ce lac a permis de suivre, en plus des indices d'une agriculture vivrière variée jusqu'au début du XXe siècle, le témoignage pollinique particulier de la vigne qui deviendra petit à petit une monoculture.

La Fondation L'Oréal, en partenariat avec l'UNESCO et l'Académie des sciences, est heureuse de vous annoncer l'ouverture de l'appel à candidatures de l'édition 2016 des Bourses françaises L'Oréal-UNESCO Pour les Femmes et la Science.

Créé en 2007, ce programme a pour objet de révéler et récompenser de jeunes chercheuses talentueuses. Au total, 140 jeunes femmes ont bénéficié d'une Bourse française L'Oréal-UNESCO Pour les Femmes et la Science.

En 2016, à l'occasion des 10 ans du programme, 10 bourses supplémentaires seront attribuées. Ainsi, la Fondation L'Oréal remettra :

- 15 Bourses d'un montant de 15 000 € chacune à des doctorantes,

- 15 Bourses d'un montant de 20 000 € chacune à des post-doctorantes.

Pierre-Emmanuel Bauranda le plaisir de vous inviter à la soutenance de sa thèse intitulée : "Embryotoxicité de contaminants métalliques et organiques chez l'escargot Helix aspersa". Elle aura lieu le vendredi 26 septembre à 9h en Amphi A (Bâtiment Métrologie) sur le campus de la Bouloie, UFR Sciences et Techniques, 16 route de Gray à Besançon.

Résumé
Les œufs d'escargot terrestre de l'espèce petit-gris Helix aspersa (syn. Cantareus aspersus) peuvent être utilisés pour évaluer l'écotoxicité de substances chimiques pures ou en mélange. La mesure des effets embryotoxiques classiquement réalisée est le succès d'éclosion après 15 à 20 jours d'exposition (Druart et al., 2012). Cependant, les mécanismes impliqués dans la mise en place des effets toxiques à différents niveaux d'organisation biologique chez l'embryon ne sont pas connus. Des œufs d'escargots ont été exposés à des solutions de contaminants métallique (Cd) ou organiques (pesticides : le Round Up® flash, le Corail® et la Bouillie Bordelaise) selon deux modalités différentes (en continu sur la totalité du développement embryonnaire ou sur une période de 24 heures) afin de 1/ déterminer de nouveaux paramètres de mesure au cours du développement embryonnaire pouvant rendre compte d'un effet toxique, 2/ détecter des effets génotoxiques de divers contaminants (solution métallique de Cd ou de formulations commerciales de pesticides) par la méthode Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) et 3/ d'étudier des systèmes de défense métal-spécifiques (métallothionéines).

Les paramètres morphologiques et physiologiques suivis au cours d'expositions continues au Cd ont montré des effets néfastes sur le rythme cardiaque, la durée de l'incubation, la taille et le poids à l'éclosion chez les exposés à la plus forte concentration testée. Chez ces derniers des signes de fragmentation de l'ADN ont également été détectés en fin d'exposition. Le couplage de la méthode RAPD avec un système d'électrophorèse haute résolution (SHR) a permis de détecter des effets génotoxiques suite à des expositions continues au Cd, au Round Up® et au Corail®. L'étude par PCR quantitative de l'expression des gènes des métallothionéines (MTs) a mis en évidence une expression constitutive des MTs ainsi qu'un haut niveau d'expression du gène mixte CdCuMT chez les embryons non exposés. Chez les embryons exposés au Cd durant 24 heures, une surexpression du gène spécifique CdMT a été mise en évidence alors qu'aucune augmentation significative des taux de transcrits des 2 autres isogènes étudiés (CuMT et CdCuMT) n'a été démontrée.

Les résultats de toxicité du Cd basés sur le taux d'éclosion et l'expression des gènes des MTs ont démontré que des facteurs comme le régime d'exposition (24 heures ou en continu) ou le stade de développement (âge des embryons lors de l'exposition) peuvent moduler l'embryotoxicité des substances chimiques.
Les données obtenues durant cette étude intégrative permettent de proposer un large panel de paramètres de mesure des effets toxiques des substances chimiques chez l'embryon d'escargot terrestre H. aspersa au niveau individuel (rythme cardiaque, taille, durée de développement et succès d'éclosion) et au niveau moléculaire (expression de gènes des systèmes de défense, détection des signes de génotoxicité et de la fragmentation de l'ADN) pour l'évaluation de la toxicité des substances chimiques. L'approche RAPD-SHR, bien que nécessitant une certaine expertise pour l'analyse des profils d'amplifications obtenus, apparaît adaptée pour une détection rapide et efficace du potentiel embryogénotoxiques de substances variées (métaux, pesticides).

Clairvaux et le « Néolithique Moyen Bourguignon »

Clairvaux constitue une nouvelle référence pour le Néolithique au nord-ouest des Alpes, en raison d'une extraordinaire conservation des vestiges datés de la première moitié du IVe millénaire av. J.-C. La comparaison des céramiques de Clairvaux avec celles des régions voisines montre ainsi – dans un système d'agriculture itinérante – la complexité des relations d'échange avec le Cortaillod classique, le Néolithique moyen II de Bourgogne et le Munzingen. Ces données remettent en cause le concept de « Néolithique Moyen Bourguignon », une construction théorique des années 1980 qui regroupait des traditions céramiques dont les origines et les trajectoires historiques s'avèrent aujourd'hui inconciliables.

(évolution expérimentale de micro-algues)

Le CEFE est l'un des plus importants laboratoires de recherche en Ecologie en France.

Le CEFE est à la recherche d'un(e) ingénieur(e) d'étude dans le cadre du projet ERC Starting Grant FluctEvol : Fluctuating selection, evolution, and plasticity in random environments. L'objectif de ce projet est d'étudier l'évolution de la microalgue Dunaliella salina en réponse à différents régimes de variation temporelle de salinité.

Les activités de l'ingénieur seront :
- Culture d'algues : contribuer à mettre en place et appliquer des protocoles de culture de Dunaliella avec un fort niveau de réplication en μplaques de culture, utilisant un robot de pipetage pour le transfert des cultures en batch et la préparation de milieux à variation complexe. Assurer la responsabilité de l'entretien courant du matériel expérimental et des appareils.
- Biologie moléculaire : extraction d'ADN, PCR, ligations, séquençage, préparation de bibliothèques pour le séquençage NGS de souches ancestrales et évoluées.
- Physiologie cellulaire : mesures de métabolites, principalement glycérol et carotène, par méthodes classiques (dosages chimiques, chromatographie) sur groupe de cellules, et par cyto-fluorométrie sur cellules individuelles.
- Gestion du labo algues (Travail en lien avec la plate-forme des marqueurs génétiques) : matériel, consommables, commandes…
- Formation et encadrement techniques des utilisateurs (étudiants et post doctorants) en français ou en anglais.

Le contexte :
Le CEFE est le plus grand laboratoire français d'écologie et évolution. Il comprend notamment des plateformes en biologie moléculaire et en chimie, ainsi que plusieurs groupes se consacrant à l'évolution expérimentale. L'équipe Génétique et Ecologie Evolutive est un environnement scientifique très dynamique et stimulant, avec 10 chercheurs permanents et 10 à 15 doctorants et post-doctorants, travaillant notamment sur l'évolution des systèmes de reproduction et des traits d'histoire de vie, l'adaptation aux environnements changeants, la spéciation ou l'évolution des communautés.
L'ingénieur sera amenéà interagir avec des étudiants et post doctorants impliqués dans ce projet, ainsi qu'avec le personnel des différentes PF techniques du CEFE. Des qualités relationnelles sont donc requises, ainsi que de très bonnes capacités de compréhension et expression en anglais. Une expérience dans les domaines de la microbiologie, de l'évolution expérimentale, ou de la physiologie cellulaire, sont souhaitables. Un intérêt pour l'écologie et l'évolution, ou les micro-algues, seraient aussi appréciés.
Le recrutement est pour une période de 2 ans, renouvelable jusque 5 ans, et le poste est à pourvoir à partir de mars 2016.
